Reset Memory

If you are having trouble starting or reading a monitor and have exhausted the troubleshooting suggestions in Read Recorded Activity, you may want to try the Reset Memory command.

The Reset Memory function programs your StepWatch to start recording data using generic setup parameters and without requiring the expected responses from the StepWatch. (It does NOT alter the calibration settings in the StepWatch.) This may help return the StepWatch to its normal "happy" state.

Place the StepWatch on the dock, then select the Reset Memory command. Wait until the programming is finished before removing the StepWatch from the dock.

DO NOT attempt to read the recorded activity or the current settings before the StepWatch has been started for AT LEAST one minute.

Caution
If your StepWatch contains data that you have not yet downloaded, using the Reset Memory command will cause you to lose that data. If you are having trouble downloading a monitor with important data in the memory, the best thing to do is to wait for several hours (or even a day), then try again.
